The position of Secretary Member Support supports the administration of the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) by providing secretarial services to members and mediators.<\/p>\n

Support role for senior commercial barrister<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Part-time (approx. 1-2 days per week)<\/li>\n
  • Flexible hours<\/li>\n
  • Suited for postgraduate, or final-year undergraduate, law student<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    You will be responsible for: production and management of documents; dictaphone typing; office management; legal research; and administrative duties.<\/p>\n

    The successful candidate will be able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines with a calm and confident approach.<\/p>\n

    Essential skills\/experience:<\/p>\n

    • Advanced computer skills (including Microsoft Office);<\/li>\n
    • Typing speed of 90+ WPM (95% accuracy);<\/li>\n
    • Strong attention to detail;<\/li>\n
    • Demonstrated communication and organisational skills; and<\/li>\n
    • Strong legal research skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Desirable skills\/experience:<\/p>\n

      • Previous experience working in a legal environment;<\/li>\n
      • Ability to use database software, in particular, FileMaker Pro; and<\/li>\n
      • Exposure to international commercial arbitration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
