\n2. <\/strong>Information on Volunteering at Monash Oakleigh Legal Service and FLAP<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/span>Are you interested in learning more about volunteering at Monash-Oakleigh Legal Service (MOLS) or the Family Law Assistance Program (FLAP)?\u00a0We will be hosting a stall at the Careers and Volunteering Festival on 8 August 2013 in the Main Dining Room in Campus Centre from 11:00am-1:30pm.<\/p>\n

Come along and chat to current volunteers about their experiences and find out more about volunteer positions and availability.<\/p>\n

3. Law Faculty Bible Study<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

What: read and discuss the Bible in a friendly, open environment.
\nWho: any student in the law faculty – whether you are just curious about Christianity, a committed Christian, or somewhere in between, we\u2019d love to meet you!
\nWhen: 1-2 pm on Mondays or 2-3 pm on Wednesdays, starting in the second week of semester.
\nWhere: one of the discussion rooms in the law library \u2013 specific location to be advised on a weekly basis through our Facebook group.<\/p>\n

4. New Publication – <\/span>So you want to be a Lawyer?<\/span><\/h4>\n

Is the first comprehensive <\/em>Australian guide written for people who are <\/em>contemplating enrolling in a law degree, whether as <\/em>an undergraduate or as a postgraduate \u2013 as well as <\/em>for those who are already enrolled but wondering where their law degree may lead them. 5. S2 SETU surveys<\/span><\/a><\/h4>\n
The online Student Evaluations of Teaching & Units (SETU) survey will open shortly for the following Units – the other Units’ SETU surveys will open later in the Semester.<\/div>\n
LLM Units in S2-01 – the SETU survey opens on 2 Aug and closes on 23 Aug<\/div>\n
JD Units in T2-58 – the SETU survey opens on 9 Aug and closes on 23 Aug<\/div>\n
LLM Units in T2-58 – the SETU survey opens on 2 Aug and closes on 8 Aug<\/div>\n
LLM Units in T3-57 – the SETU survey opens on 2 Aug and closes on 23 Aug<\/div>\n
Prof Prac Unit in T2-58 – the SETU survey opens on 9 Aug and closes on 23 Aug<\/div>\n
Neg Med Unit in Winter – the SETU survey opens on 5 Ag and closes on 26 Aug.<\/div>\n

The University will be emailing you the instructions on how to access these SETU survey online. SETU is the online survey of students each Semester which helps the University and Faculty to monitor and continually improve the quality of teaching and learning. This is your opportunity to be heard and to provide us with some constructive and helpful feedback about your experience in your Units and also with the teaching staff. Please do have your say and help us to keep on improving the quality of our Units and teaching. Even if you were totally happy with your Units and the teaching in them then please let us know – the teachers really do appreciate hearing from you about what they are doing right as well as what still needs to be improved. The primary purpose of the SETU survey is to provide our teaching staff with helpful information which they can use to make informed decisions about how to keep on improving our Units and teaching.<\/div>\n

6. Social Media Policy – The University has released a Social Media Policy<\/span><\/h4>\n
\n

Monash University’s Social Media Policy<\/a> includes compliance procedures for students when using networking sites (like Facebook, LinkedIn, blogs, Twitter, yoursay on The Age website, SMS etc) if there is a connection with Monash (even if it is only through your Facebook profile).<\/p>\n

Compliance requires the obvious, such as taking reasonable steps to ensure information is accurate, complies with other University IT rules, is respectful and courteous, complies with copyright, privacy, defamation, discrimination and harassment laws etc. Many of these behaviours are specifically prohibited, in particular material must not be obscene, offensive or discriminatory or amount to bullying, bring the University into disrepute or give the impression that you are authorised to speak on behalf of the University when you are not. Breach of the policy can result in disciplinary action under Statute 4.1 \u2013 Student Discipline.<\/p>\n
