NSW Law Reform Commission \u2013 Summer Internships 2013\/14<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong> <\/strong>The NSW Law Reform Commission operates a summer  internship program for law students in their final year of study, or  entering their final year of study in 2014.\u00a0While this opportunity is  unpaid, it does provide access to a range of professional development  opportunities including working with our Commissioners. OPP Traineeship Program<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>The Office of Public  Prosecutions (OPP) Legal Traineeship Program offers law graduates a  unique opportunity to experience diverse and challenging work that will  provide the basis for a rewarding legal career.<\/p>\n<p>Over 12 months legal trainees rotate through the organisation, gaining experience in a broad range  of legal practice areas and responsibilities, including preparing legal  advice and indictments, and instructing Crown Prosecutors and external  counsel.<\/p>\n<p>The Legal Traineeship Program meets the requirements of  the Supervised Workplace Traineeship, offering both supervised  workplace training and training in the defined competency standards for  entry-level lawyers.<\/p>\n<p>To support workplace training, the OPP  provides Continuing Legal Education (CLE) through an extensive and  comprehensive development program covering relevant aspects of criminal  law.<\/p>\n<p>The Legal Traineeship Program for 2014 begins in February.<\/p>\n<p>Applications for the 2013 Legal Traineeship Program close at 11.59pm on Sunday, 18 August 2013<strong>. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Your application will consist of three components:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>your      curriculum vitae<\/li>\n<li>a      certified extract of your academic record<\/li>\n<li>a      covering letter, including written responses to the following three questions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In your opinion:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>What  is the importance of committal proceedings, should they be abolished? The  OPP will also not be considering applications from those who have  completed, or are currently undertaking their Practical Legal Training  (PLT) coursework.<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">6. Student Exchange to China<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Opportunity for undergraduate and postgraduate students \u2013 \u00a0exchange  to China in 2014 with Government and University Support. Please attend  the Monash Abroad info session on the 6th of August. (1-2pm, R4,  Building 8, Clayton Campus).<\/p>\n<p>Students will be able to select from a range of units taught in  English.
