Company Law in Rome, Italy<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>LUISS Summer School on European &amp; Comparative Company Law: Capital Markets in Rome, Italy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In cooperation with Leiden University under the aegis of the Centre for European Company Law (CECL). This  course is designed as an add-on to the education of law students as  well as graduates with an interest in company law.\u00a0 It will allow  participants to prepare for or complement a graduate degree in business  law by gaining an in-depth exposure to the theory and practice of  company law in Europe and acquiring the tools for dealing with  cross-border transactions involving listed companies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dates<\/strong>:\u00a0 June 12 &#8211; June 20, 2015<\/p>\n<p><strong>Closing Date for applications<\/strong>:\u00a0 1 June 2015<\/p>\n<p>Download the <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.monash.edu\/lawstudentbulletin\/files\/2015\/04\/Summer_School_2015-.pdf\">brochure<\/a> for further information and online application.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>3. <\/strong><strong>VADR CPD Event: Early Neutral Evaluation<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>You are cordially invited to a VADR CPD presentation on Tuesday, 5 May 2015, when Chief Magistrate of Victoria, Peter Lauritsen will speak on the Early Neutral Evaluation Program. The program was introduced into the Magistrates&#8217; Court, Victoria with effect from 1 July 2012 after a 2010 pilot. In Early Neutral Evaluation, parties present their cases by way of submission on the facts and law to an evaluator, who provides them with a non-binding, confidential evaluation of their dispute.\u00a0 The Chief Magistrate will discuss how the process operates, in what circumstances it is most effective and the success of the programme generally.<\/p>\n<p>Peter Lauritsen became the Chief Magistrate of Victoria on 29 November 2012 after being first being appointed as a magistrate in 1989, and Deputy Chief Magistrate in 2003. Between 1987 and 1989, he was a magistrate for the Northern Territory. During his career, Mr Lauritsen has taken on a range of responsibilities in relation to the management and operation of various Courts and Tribunals, and chaired committees such as the Civil Rules Committee and the Court\u2019s Dispute Resolution Committee.\u00a0 Externally, he has represented the Court on numerous committees, bodies, boards and advisory groups including the Council of Legal Education, the Courts\u2019 Library Committee, and the Judicial Officer\u2019s Aboriginal Cultural Awareness Committee.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Where<\/strong>: Coopers Inn (2nd floor), cnr Exhibition and Little Lonsdale Streets,<\/p>\n<p><strong>When<\/strong>:\u00a0 Tuesday, 5 May 2015, 5.45pm for a 6.15 pm start.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cost: <\/strong>Free to current VADR members, $20 for non-members. Mental Health Programs<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>A range of upcoming Mental Health Programs are available for Monash staff and students. New Externship Opportunity: LAW4803 VCAT Self Help Centre Externship<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>VCAT Self Help Centre Externship \u2013 A new clinical externship will be available from second semester 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Students participating in this externship program will work with staff members of the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) in its Self Help Centre.<\/p>\n<p>Students will attend VCAT for one full day each week over a 12 week period, providing unrepresented parties with information about VCAT\u2019s practices and procedures that will help parties make or defend claims in diverse areas such as planning and environmental, tenancy, consumer, guardianship, mental health, equal opportunity and building and property law.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>7.
