<\/span>LAW4161 Introduction to European Union Law<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Introduction to EU Law gives students an overview of the law of the European Union, the most successful supranational legal order in the world. It is a cross between international criminal law, international human rights and international relations.<\/span><\/p>\n It will analyse the way that societies, ranging from Rwanda to South Africa to East Timor, recover from a legacy of human rights abuse. The top two teams from these national rounds then progress to the international finals in Washington DC in March.<\/p>\n \n The competition will be held at Australia National University (ANU), Canberra, during the first week of February 2016. Students who are selected as part of the team may be eligible to be enrolled in a 6-point undergraduate unit \u2013 LAW 4806 \u2013 Jessup Moot Competition.<\/p>\n \n The faculty is currently running another international mooting competition \u2013 the Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. The subject is an intensive and practical introduction to problem based learning and legal analysis in a small group environment. It develops strategic thinking and provides experience in a simulated international commercial arbitration. It is not just for those interested in commercial law.
