Medico-Legal Society of Victoria Essay Competition<\/h2>\n<p>The Medico Legal Society of Victoria would like to invite final year students studying Law or Medicine to enter an essay competition.<\/p>\n<p>The topic of the essay is:<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u201cThe most controversial issue the medico-legal sphere faces today is&#8230;..\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The competition is an excellent opportunity for final year students to gain access to a professional organisation prior completion of their degrees and the opportunity to meet and learn from professionals in their field.<\/p>\n<p>The competition will close on<strong> Monday 30 May 2016<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Essays should be between 1500 and 2000 words in length.<\/p>\n<p>Total (non-cash) Prize value is approximately $1,635.00 per Prize winner.<\/p>\n<p>For more details please\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mlsv.org.au\/links\/\">click here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>7. Taxation Law and Advanced Taxation Law<\/h2>\n<p>Considering an additional qualification?<\/p>\n<p>Two of our LLB(Hons) units (LAW4704 Taxation Law and LAW4332 Advanced Taxation Law) have been approved by the Tax Practitioners Board as approved courses in Australian taxation law that can count towards qualification as a registered tax agent. What is Mediation? Free seminar with Vic Small Business Commissioner<\/h2>\n<p>If you&#8217;ve ever wondered about the mediation process and how it works, join <strong>Geoff Browne<\/strong>, the <strong>Victorian Small Business Commissioner (VSBC)<\/strong>, for an overview of the mediation service provided by his Office.<\/p>\n<p>This session will be co-hosted by the VSBC principal mediator, who will walk you through the mediation process, from arriving at the mediation venue to finalising Terms of Settlement, and highlight how to best prepare for and participate in a mediation.<\/p>\n<p>The VSBC provides an independent, low cost mediation service for business-to-business commercial disputes.<\/p>\n<p>The free session will be held during Law Week in one of the VSBC&#8217;s mediation rooms.
