Time management and procrastination: Leap into Leadership online<\/h2>\n<p>We know it\u2019s hard to manage your time while at university. Balancing study, work, volunteering and other responsibilities can be stressful.<\/p>\n<p>Now is the perfect time to get organised and develop your skills.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why Monash has created\u00a0<em>Time Management and Prioritisation<\/em>, a free online module for all students.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll learn how to stay focused and avoid procrastination, create an effective to-do list and delegate to your team. It only takes about one to two hours to complete the module, and you\u2019ll receive a personalised certificate and resource pack when you finish.<\/p>\n<p><em>Time Management and Prioritisation<\/em> is just one module offered in Leap into Leadership Online: a suite of interactive modules you can complete any time, at any stage of your studies. With modules on communication, teamwork, goal-setting and more, there\u2019s plenty of topics to suit you.<\/p>\n<p>Get your semester on the right track &#8211;\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/moodle.vle.monash.edu\/enrol\/index.php?id=29529\">enrol in \u201cTime Management and Prioritisation\u201d now.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>2. 2017 LSS Elections<\/h2>\n<p>Attention all Monash LSS members \u2013 voting is this week for your 2017 Committee. Make the most of your membership and have a say in who represents you! Anyone who was a member prior to Monday 22 August is eligible to vote.<\/p>\n<p>Voting will be held across <strong>Monday 5 and Tuesday 6 September<\/strong>, from 12.00-2.00pm and 4.00-6.00pm in the Law Basement. All your candidates will be in the basement at this time working hard for your vote. Melbourne Lawyers\u2019 Orchestra are looking for musicians<\/h2>\n<p>The Melbourne Lawyers\u2019 Orchestra (MLO) is an independent, non-profit orchestra made up of members of Melbourne\u2019s legal community \u2013 from judges to law students.<\/p>\n<p>We are one of the permanent projects administered by BottledSnail Productions, which aspires to provide a creative outlet for lawyers and law students through producing concerts, art exhibitions and theatre, among other things.<\/p>\n<p>We are currently interest from all musicians, particularly violin, viola and cello players for our orchestra.<\/p>\n<p>Please email MLO Director, Aimee Nguyen at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:aimee.nguyen@bottledsnail.com\">aimee.nguyen@bottledsnail.com<\/a> to express your interest.<\/p>\n<h2>4. RUOK? Day at Clayton<\/h2>\n<p>This Thursday is RUOK? Day, an important initiative encouraging all people to stop and have a conversation with their friends and family about mental health.<\/p>\n<p>The biggest killer of young people is suicide, and so the RUOK? Day Foundation aims to raise awareness about mental illness and encourage individuals to speak out, working towards removing the stigma surrounding mental illness.<\/p>\n<p>Your LSS is teaming up with Monash University and the Law Faculty to provide a day of activities. A BBQ will occur on the South One lawn from 12.00pm, with free snags, burgers and a selection of non-alcoholic beverages. In the Law basement, the three-minute angels will be performing massages from 11.00am.<\/p>\n<p>And most importantly, it\u2019s Boof\u2019s birthday. Boof is the therapy dog who visits the Law Building every Thursday and this Thursday, we\u2019re having a birthday party, and some of Boof\u2019s friends are coming to join in the celebrations.<\/p>\n<p>So come down and have a chat with your reps, learn more about how you can battle mental illness and relax.<\/p>\n<h2>5. Administrative Appeals Tribunal position in Hobart<\/h2>\n<p>The AAT is seeking an Administrative Assistant Legal for their Hobart office.<\/p>\n<p>The AAT provides independent review of a wide range of administrative decisions made by the Australian Government and some non-government bodies.<\/p>\n<p>This is a non-ongoing position for a period of 12 months with the possibility of extension.<\/p>\n<p>The AAL undertakes legal research which may include case law research, monitoring of legislation and preparation of case summaries, assists with the preparation and legal editing of Tribunal orders, decisions and reasons for decision, prepares catchwords and summaries of reasons for decision, drafts directions and interlocutory orders, provides administrative support which may include pre-hearing liaison with parties and case management of files.<\/p>\n<p>For more information and how to apply, <a href=\"https:\/\/aat.bigredsky.com\/page.php?pageID=106\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">please see here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>2. RUOK? Day at Law Chambers<\/h2>\n<p>This Thursday 8th September is R U OK? Day at Monash University.<\/p>\n<p>The LSS alongside the Monash Law faculty are hosting an event in support of the national charity R U OK? because we believe that asking \u201care you ok?\u201d is something we can all do to make a difference.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes Law school can lead to feelings of loneliness and isolation but you\u2019re not alone! R U OK? Is about the power of connection and to encourage people to ask the question \u201care you ok?\u201d and to look out for one another. By raising awareness about the importance of connection and providing resources throughout the year, the R U OK? The Foundation aims to prevent isolation by empowering people to support each other through life&#8217;s ups and downs.<\/p>\n<p>Come by the Kitchen from 11.00-3.00pm for a light lunch.
