Approaches to Youth Justice: A Panel Discussion<\/h2>\n<p>With all the media coverage surrounding young people in detention, we have decided to host a panel discussion.<\/p>\n<p>The speakers include Tiffany Overall, the policy officer from Youthlaw and Smart Justice for Young People spokesperson, and Christopher Trotter, a professor at Monash University and the Director of the Criminal Justice Research Consortium.<\/p>\n<p>The panel will focus on the current approach to youth justice and the burgeoning concept of justice reinvestment, which encourages tackling the causes of crime and re-directing money spent on prisons into community based initiatives. He was a Justice of the High Court of Australia from 1997 to 2015.
