Nominations for the Sir John Monash Medal<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Each year, the Faculty of Law awards the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.monash.edu\/law\/current-students\/resources\/assessments\/prizes\/sir-john-monash-medal\">Sir John Monash Medal for Outstanding Achievement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Sir John Monash Medal for Outstanding Achievement is awarded to a student who:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400\">\n<li>has completed the academic requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Laws and is eligible to graduate;<\/li>\n<li>is judged to have an excellent academic record; and<\/li>\n<li>has demonstrated a significant commitment to advancing the University&#8217;s goals of social justice, human rights and a sustainable environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Nominations for the Sir John Monash medal close this\u00a0<strong>Friday 16 February 2018.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">A nomination can be made by the student, a fellow student, and any Monash staff member or any member of the community by completing the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.monash.edu\/__data\/assets\/pdf_file\/0008\/374939\/sir-john-monash-nomination-form-2017.pdf\">nomination form<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">All nominations must include a letter from the nominator explaining the reason for the nomination and a statement from the nominee addressing how he\/she meets each of the eligibility criteria. Please also provide any supporting information which could be of use to the selection committee and permission from the student to have his or her academic records released to the selection committee.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Please submit your completed nomination form and any supporting documentation to\u00a0the Faculty\u00a0of Law Student\u00a0Services Manager via\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/php.apps.monash.edu\/intranet\/students\/askmonash\/key-phrase\/?id=d2aa4de998bd36325ee883f455d22f1d\">online submission from<\/a>\u00a0by no later than 5:00 pm on Friday 16 February 2018.<\/p>\n<h2>2. Law Building renovations<\/h2>\n<div>\n<p>As you know the Law Building at Clayton Campus has been closed to all staff and students\u00a0since the end of\u00a0last year.\u00a0The ground floor\u00a0is\u00a0undergoing an extensive refurbishment to bring you an exciting new student space!<\/p>\n<p>Access to the building\u00a0has\u00a0now resumed. Write for the\u00a0ILA Reporter<\/h2>\n<p>The ILA Reporter (<a href=\"http:\/\/ilareporter.org.au\">ilareporter.org.au<\/a>) is the official blog of the Australian Branch of the International Law Association (ILA).<\/p>\n<p>The ILA Reporter provides analysis, commentary and discussion on issues in public and private international law which have bearing on Australia and the wider region.<\/p>\n<p>The ILA Reporter accepts articles on a rolling basis from academics, legal practitioners, and students. This is a great opportunity to be published by a well-respected non-government organisation with a wide readership.<\/p>\n<p>Learn more about <a href=\"http:\/\/ilareporter.org.au\/submissions\/\">submitting an article<\/a> to the ILA Reporter.<\/p>\n<h2>5. Submit an article to the UCD Law Review<\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The UCD Law Review\u202fis Ireland\u2019s leading student-run legal journal. The Review is published on an annual basis, with guidance provided by our academic advisors. The Review features articles on a variety of legal topics, written by students as well as those in academia and in practice.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Board welcomes contributions on a broad range of contemporary legal issues, as well as articles addressing legal history.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Articles for consideration for inclusion in the 18th Volume are to be submitted in word format to\u202f\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:ucdlawreviewsubmissions@ucd.ie\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ucdlawreviewsubmissions@ucd.ie<\/a>\ufffc by 30 March 2018.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The email should contain the Author\u2019s name, year of study or graduation, and contact details. The selection process is entirely anonymous so please do not include any indications of identity in the article.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">A prize of\u202f \u20ac500 will be awarded to the author of the most outstanding article.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Board will consider articles as they are submitted and offers may be made prior to the deadline. Late submissions may be accepted at the discretion of the Editor.
