Please join us at this event for an analysis of the current state of the\u00a0death\u00a0<\/span>penalty<\/span>\u00a0in Asia, guided by experts from the field.<\/p>\n

Over 20 countries globally continue to execute. Many of these countries are located in the Asian region (including China, Japan, Singapore, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Indonesia and Vietnam).\u00a0The\u00a0death<\/span>\u00a0penalty<\/span>\u00a0typically harms the very poor, and minority groups, including sexual minorities, foreigners and the intellectually impaired. Whilst globally the trend towards abolition over the past 70 years is strong, there is much work to be done in the Asian region.<\/p>\n
