Citing articles, tackling assignments – help is at hand

Crop-1a

The Library offers tips on how to cite articles

The interactive tutorial, Demystifying citing and referencing and the related Citing and referencing library guide have been developed to assist with understanding when and how to cite sources.

First year students of the Faculty of Arts, among others, are now making good use of this self-paced tutorial and in-depth guide.

These resources are among the range of online resources and activities  provided by the Library to enable you to improve your academic skills or your approach to study. Other topics covered include how to take lecture notes, how to set about writing an essay, and developing an effective search strategy.

If you need tips for getting started on an assignment, speak to a learning skills adviser or librarian at a drop in session.

I find using “References” tab within Microsoft Word a really handy way to manage citations for assignments and reports. It allows you to easily insert the citation, without missing any fields. Have a look next time you use MS Word.
