This course is designed for a wide range of professionals working in English language teaching in Australian and in International contexts, who seek a graduate qualification in TESOL (teaching English to speakers of other languages).

The course prepares students as language teachers in different global educational settings. It caters to those who wish to gain specialised knowledge in English language teaching and learning.

The program comprises of eight units and explores teaching principles from issues in the curriculum and assessment through to broader sociocultural issues such as the role of English in learners’ lies. Students will explore the theory and practice of teaching English as a second, foreign or international language in a range of contexts: primary, secondary, tertiary and the workplace.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must have successfully completed a recognised bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in any discipline with a credit average.

Applicants must also meet the English language requirements.

Recognition of prior learning

Applicants who hold relevant prior qualifications and/or work experience may be eligible to receive up to 4 units of credit into this course, which reduces the duration. Applicants will need to submit a credit application form with their application.

Please note: This program alone does not qualify graduates to teach in Australia schools. If you are seeking a teaching qualification please refer to the Master of Teaching courses.
