Record number graduate from our English language programs

IMG_7416Earlier in February, almost 1,500 Monash University English Language Centre (MUELC) students accepted their completion certificates. This marked the largest group to ever graduate from Monash College English programs.

‘This cohort’s achievement is a credit to our teachers and the Learning and Teaching management team,’ said Cynthia Kralik, Director MUELC. ‘Our Bridging courses provide students with the skills they need to succeed in their future studies at Monash College and at Monash University.’

The ceremony was a lively event, with the students’ excitement infusing performances and speeches.

Speaking at the Introductory Academic Program ceremony, Maristella Baras said, ‘Each of us has accomplished one of the major milestones of our daily lives here.

‘This experience has been more than an academic program… It is the start of the larger journey of our lives.’

Maristella has travelled to Australia from Papua New Guinea on an Australian government-funded scholarship. She is now progressing to a Master of Counselling at Monash University.
