The Master of Nursing is now the Master of Advanced Nursing. The new name aims to make it clearer for prospective students to understand that this course is designed for graduate nurses who wish to upskill or specialise in an area of nursing.<\/span><\/h2>\n

In addition, the Master of Advanced Nursing has a new specialisation: Leadership and Management.<\/em><\/p>\n

Nursing leadership and management<\/h3>\n

Available: Clayton<\/p>\n

This specialisation will provide students with leadership and management skills in a variety of nursing service contexts. It provides for a range of individual career pathways, including nursing, education or management positions within industry, government or independent professional practice. The specialisation can be taken by coursework, or a combination of coursework and research.<\/p>\n

Nursing Education<\/h3>\n

Available: Peninsula<\/p>\n

This specialisation will prepare students with the skills and knowledge to critically evaluate and assess the outcomes of an educational intervention, and to develop skills in the area of education program development including curriculum development.<\/p>\n

The specialisation is comprising these two 12-point units:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Finally, students can also choose the general stream of nursing where they can select any of the units from the above specialisations or choose from the list of elective units listed below. Students have a choice to complete the course through coursework units or choose a combination of units combined with a research project.
