{"id":1174,"date":"2013-04-03T13:35:45","date_gmt":"2013-04-03T02:35:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/test-blogs-monash-edu.pantheonsite.io\/rural-health\/?p=1174"},"modified":"2013-04-04T12:36:10","modified_gmt":"2013-04-04T01:36:10","slug":"marita-in-the-swim","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.monash.edu\/rural-health\/2013\/04\/03\/marita-in-the-swim\/","title":{"rendered":"Marita in the swim"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_1177\" style=\"width: 160px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1177\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1177\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.monash.edu\/rural-health\/files\/2013\/04\/Marita-Chisholm-005.jpg\" alt=\"Marita Chisholm\" width=\"150\" height=\"213\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-1177\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Marita Chisholm<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Marita Chisholm has had a busy month, in an academic and sporting sense.<\/p>\n<p>She presented her PhD topic, \u2018Access to dementia care and support services in rural Victorian communities\u2019 before colleagues and a panel to successfully gain her confirmation of candidature.<\/p>\n<p>At around the same time she was busy preparing for and taking part in the annual 8km swim, the Cohuna Bridge to Bridge race, along the town\u2019s Gunbower Creek.<\/p>\n<p>Marita swam into second place, continuing her impressive record in the event.<\/p>\n<p>She has swum the 1.5km race three times and the 8km race twice, earning a top three placing in every race.<\/p>\n<p>The event is held amongst the picturesque surrounds of Cohuna, Gunbower Island State Forest and the Gunbower Creek making it a great family day. There are a range of events for adults and juniors and all money raised is donated to the Cohuna District Hospital and the Royal Children\u2019s Hospital.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Marita Chisholm has had a busy month, in an academic and sporting sense.
