It also assists the University in meeting its targets in relation to senior academic women.<\/p>\n<p>The program acknowledges that women may experience significant tension between academic success and family duties.\u00a0 It is intended to support women to enhance, maintain or re-invigorate their research profile at a critical time in their careers.<\/p>\n<p>By providing funding that can be used flexibly, the grants can reduce the impact of career breaks and\/or intense caring responsibilities on women\u2019s research productivity and career progression.<\/p>\n<p>Penny plans to make good use of the grant by undertaking career development coaching sessions as well as in other areas yet to be decided.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1452\" style=\"width: 160px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1452\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1452\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.monash.edu\/rural-health\/files\/2013\/06\/Penny-Buykx.jpg\" alt=\"Penny Buykx\" width=\"150\" height=\"171\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-1452\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Penny Buykx<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Congratulations are extended to Penny Buykx who was recently awarded \u2018The Advancing Women\u2019s Research Success Grant.\u2019 The Monash award identifies the need to significantly increase the representation of women in senior academic roles and has been designed to support women\u2019s career progression.
