High salt content is more than 1.5g per 100g.<\/p>\n<p>Salt can increase blood pressure and cause stroke, heart failure and heart attack. There is also increasing evidence of a link between high salt intake and stomach cancer, osteoporosis, obesity, kidney stones and kidney disease<\/p>\n<p>You can reduce your salt intake by using <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1812 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/edit.blogs-monash-edu.salsa.hosting\/timeout-newsletter\/files\/2013\/03\/salt2.jpg\" alt=\"salt2\" width=\"272\" height=\"191\" \/>healthier options that are lower in salt.
