What’s on at Caulfield campus for new students?
What is MONSU and who represents me?
Hi, I am Drishti Budhwani, elected OSS (Overseas Student Services) officer, and I will be representing all international students at Caulfield campus for MONSU Caulfield. MONSU Caulfield is the student representative association for Monash Caulfield students. They provide all sorts of student services, run awesome events and offer volunteering opportunities.
Experience Melbourne with MONSU
Welcome to Melbourne is a fun and exciting program for international students who want to experience what Melbourne has to offer. This five week program includes visits to some of the most popular tourist attractions around Melbourne, including Puffing Billy, Healesville Sanctuary and Queen Victoria Market. You’ll even get to attend an Australian Rules Football game and try to understand why Melburnians love the sport so much! MONSU is taking expressions of interest now.
When: Saturday August 4 – Saturday September 1
Join a non-residential college!
Are you worried about missing out on social and academic advantages because you don’t live on-campus? Monash’s non-residential colleges (NRCs) aim to provide these benefits to students living off-campus. Gain access to social engagement and support, mentoring from senior students and a range of social, sporting, academic and cultural programs by applying to become a part of one of Caulfield’s three NRCs. Activities for semester 2 include Dodgeball and many more!
Globe Café
Globe Café provides friendship, support and fun for international students. Get involved with games, BBQs, karaoke nights, trips away, multicultural nights, film nights, dances and more, and get to know other international students and Australian families. This free program is presented by the St John’s Anglican Parish, a short walk away from Caulfield campus. The semester 2 program commences Friday 3rd August.
Know your rights as a student
MONSU Student Rights provides free, confidential advice on academic progress, administration questions, grievances (complaints), discipline (misconduct), result disputes, special consideration and fee reimbursement. They can assist you through face-to-face appointments, telephone appointments and email communications.
Stay mindful at Monash’s free meditation sessions
Monash is holding free lunchtime meditation sessions every Wednesday at Caulfield campus. Come along to reduce your stress levels, improve brain performance and enhance your wellbeing.
