Allianz new app – download today
Features include: function to submit claims quickly and easily through the app, access your e-membership card, translate medical terms, and access your policy details. Read the step-by-step guide on downloading and registering the app, or speak to an OSHC representative on campus.
Scammers targeting international students
Monash University Safer Community Unit is currently aware of a scammer targeting international students looking for accommodation. Persons loiter within and around campus and surrounding streets, approach young students and strike up a conversation stating there is an apartment to rent. Fake advertisements are sometimes placed on a Chinese website. Cash loans are asked for upfront often $2-3,000 for various reasons. The money is never paid back. Be very careful who you give money to. Do not give cash. Do not transfer via money wires
Ensure you deal with reputable real estate agents or from off-campus housing. Go to the agent’s office and sign paperwork. Record
identification if you are concerned. Protect yourself – Do not give money to people who approach you on the street or on campus. If you give money voluntarily you are responsible. It is rare to get your money back. To report a scam www.scamwatch.gov.au

Public transport concession card – iUSEpass
International undergraduate students are entitled to 50% discount on the price of an annual transport pass – the iUSEpass. This pass allows unlimited travel for 365 days from date of first use. Water Wise
Water Wise is an “Introduction to Swimming” program aimed at increasing water safety awareness and swimming ability of Monash students. This program is fun, free and is held at the Doug Ellis Swimming Pool on Clayton campus. For more information, visit the Water Wise website.
Conversational English Programs
Do you want to make friends with local students or meet students from around the world and practice your Englsih? Join “Let’s Chat”. It is a free, fun way to talk, ask questions, meet fellow students, make friends and share experience. No credit points, no assessment, no lectures, no books, just programs delivered by specially trained students. Places are limited and registration is required. Available at all campuses. Come and try Aussie rules football with the Monash University Blues Football Club!

Are you interested in learning more about the great Australian sport of AFL? Have you always wanted to try it but been to shy? Are you an international student who is keen to learn more?
Open to men and women of all abilities. It will introduce to you to the great Australian Sport of AFL. Student athletes from the Monash Blues Football Club will take you through some skills and activities in a fun, informal environment. Wear comfortable clothes (pants/shorts, singlet/tshirt, runners) and bring a drink bottle
Change of address
As part of your student visa conditions, you MUST update your address if you have recently moved to a new accommodation. Please do so via the Web Enrolment System (WES) or contact Monash Connect at your campus. You must also include emergency contact details.
Leap into Leadership Online
Leap into Leadership Online (LiLO) is a suite of practical, straightforward and fun online modules that will will help you get ready for your career, and build skills you’ve developed in volunteering, workplace experience and leadership roles.
Modules take about 1 to 2 hours to complete, and you can do them any time.

Salaam Monash is a handbook to assist Muslim students with settling and adjusting to life in Australia. It comes in different languages and are available online the Monash website.
