General Notices

1. Semester 1 SETU surveys

We are very concerned that the student response rates on our SETU surveys are falling –

  • 2012 Semester 3 – Faculty 24.48% and University 32.04%
  • 2012 Semester 2 – Faculty 23.80% and University 30.49%
  • 2012 Semester 1 – Faculty 34.77 % and University 38.63%

The University will send you reminder emails about the SETU surveys each Semester – please don’t delete these emails or just dismiss them as junk. You can access the SETU surveys via your my.monash portal and obviously there will be a survey for each Unit you are enrolled in. Your feedback about your Units and Teachers is important to us and we do appreciate you completing the SETU surveys.

The S1 survey periods open as follows

  • S1, S1-32 and SS-S1-01 Units (UG and some PG Units – including LLM Units) – the SETU survey opens on 6 May and shuts down on 24 May
  • T2-57 Units (LLM and Prato Units) – the SETU survey opens on 29 April and shuts down on 30 May.

We would really appreciate it if you could please complete a SETU survey for each Unit in which you are enrolled before the closing date.

2. Vice-Chancellor’s 2014 Ancora Imparo Student Leadership Program

Leadership training helps to unlock your potential – enhancing your ability to have a positive influence on your peers and on the world.

Applications for positions in the Vice-Chancellor’s 2014 Ancora Imparo Student Leadership Program will open on Tuesday 7th May 2013. The Ancora Imparo Program is a flagship program of the University.

We seek participation in the 2014 Program of students from a diverse range of backgrounds, interests and courses, who wish to improve their community. If you are a first year student who has a vision for constructive change in society, then I encourage you to apply. Even if this is not for you but you know another first year who demonstrates a desire to make a difference, then please encourage them to apply.

Participants are given the opportunity to meet and hear from some of the nation’s most inspired leaders, with backgrounds ranging from politics to business, arts and the law. To illustrate, speakers have included Christine Nixon APM, Julian Burnside QC AO, and CEOs of non-profit organisations such as Jack Manning Bancroft (AIME) and Dr Sam Prince (One Disease at a Time).

For more information about the program and how to apply please visit: www.monash.edu.au/students/leadership

Applications close Monday 29th July 2013.
