1. Trailblazers: Insights from Women of Influence (International Women’s Day 2019)

On International Women’s Day, Monash University is proud to host Trailblazers: Insights from Women of Influence.

This breakfast event features an expert panel of women of influence who have blazed their own trails across a diverse range of industries.

Join Rebecca Goddard (Federal Agent and AFLW Premiership coach), Dr Susan Carland (academic, author and social commentator) and Michelle Jablko (Chief Financial Officer, ANZ) as they reflect on their own wins and challenges in their professional lives so far. They’ll provide invaluable insights into how to overcome obstacles and blaze your own trail, and how to achieve #BalanceForBetter to make a positive impact in the world.

2. Wominjeka Monash returns to O-week 2019

Wominjeka Monash or ‘Welcome to Monash’, will be held at Clayton, Caulfield, Peninsula and Parkville during Orientation week.

The event celebrates and acknowledges Indigenous culture, while welcoming our newest students. We will be treated to live music from Australia’s biggest names at Clayton, Caulfield and Parkville. Workshops, lawn games and other activities will also be available across each campus. This event is open to all staff and students.

This year, we’re bringing Dreamtime Awards Best female artist 2018 Mojo Juju to Clayton campus, Triple J Hottest 100 featured artist Kira Puru to Caulfield campus, and Approachable Members of Your Local Community to Parkville campus.

3. Global Legal Hackathon – 22-24 February

The Global Legal Hackathon returns to Melbourne over the weekend of 22-24 February 2019.
Is there a problem in the legal industry that requires a legal tech solution? Join the Global Legal Hackathon, hosted at Monash University, and you can be part of the solution.
The Global Legal Hackathon brings together the world’s leading legal thinkers and doers in support of a unified vision: rapid development of tech solutions to progress the legal industry and the function of law and justice.

You don’t need to be a tech whiz or a high flying lawyer to take part – if you’re a student, budding entrepreneur or business enthusiast this one’s for you!
