Girls’ night in raises big dollars for cancer research
The ‘girls night in’ event run by Gippsland Regional Clinical School’s Senior Clinical Educator Meagan Presley last month was a huge success, raising more than $3,700.00. “Guests opened their purses and with their generosity of buying auction items we raised a total of $3717.60, which was a whole lot more than the $600 I had put on my form as my goal for the night!” Megan said.
The original plans were for a small group of friends to get together as a fund raiser but the idea caught on and 60 plus turned out. Megan was inspired to run the event after both her grandmothers were diagnosed with cancer in recent months.
Before the event Megan said she had always wanted to contribute to cancer funding especially caring for patients who go through so much and never complain. She decided that with her family’s events there was no better year to help raise money for cancer research.
