In the April edition:

 Global Walk/Run Event

The Monash Global Walk Run kicked off in great numbers with more than 600 staff and students participating in events across all Monash campuses and sites.

At Clayton, more than 400 participants braved the rain to join their colleagues and friends, as part of the biannual event.  Walkers, were led through the new Monash Circuit – Jock Marshall Reserve, while runners challenged themselves to a sprint around the TAN.

The event supported and raised funds for the great work done by the White Ribbon organisation, an organisation committed to preventing violence against women. ‘Our support of this great organisation was recently recognised in Monash’s accreditation as a White Ribbon Workplace, providing supportive and safer environments’, said Dr Vicki Ashton, Chief Medical Officer for Monash.

“It was a great initiative which raised awareness on the importance of physical activity but also social contentedness. It was wonderful to see different areas of the university involved with some areas even dressing up for the day”, said  David Suder, Deputy Executive Director and Director Campus Development.
