Monash University Enterprise Agreement (Trades and Services Staff – Building and Metal Trades Staff) 2009 – outcome of the staff vote
As you will be aware, a staff vote for the approval of the proposed Monash University Enterprise Agreement (Trades and Services Staff – Building and Metal Trades Staff) 2009 took place today.
I would like to advise that 22 votes were cast and all were in favour of the Agreement. This is a very encouraging result and indicates a high degree of support for the new Agreement.
The university will now prepare to lodge an application for approval of the Agreement by Fair Work Australia. Although the Agreement has been approved by a staff vote, it will not commence operation until it is approved by Fair Work Australia and the Monash University Enterprise Agreement (Trades and Services Staff – Building and Metal Trades Staff and Grounds and Gardening Staff) 2005 will continue to apply in the interim.
I would like to thank all building and metal trades and services staff for their support of the vote and the new Agreement.
