1. 2010 Annual Essay Competition in European and EU Studies

The Monash European and EU Centre is pleased to announce its 2010 Annual Essay Competition in European and EU Studies.

The competition is open to all students at Monash University. Honours and postgraduate students in the Faculties of Arts, Law, and Business and Economics are particularly encouraged to apply.

Essays should focus on recent developments in Europe and the European Union and should be between 4,000 and 6,000 words in length.

A first prize of $500 and a second prize of $300 will be awarded.

The essays will be assessed by a panel of judges selected by the Monash European and EU Centre.

Winning essays will be considered for publication in the Monash European and EU Centre’s new electronic working papers series, or in a suitable academic journal or book.

The closing date for application is 5 pm Friday 12 November, 2010.

2. Monash University Research – Register To Win!

Are you interested in sharing your experiences at, and opinions of Monash? We are looking for Monash University student volunteers (UG, PG and HDR) to take part in focus groups and online research in the next month.

3. Semester 2 Unit Evaluations

Just a reminder that Semester 2 Unit Evaluations are coming up soon and we would really appreciate your participation in the Unit Evaluation process for each of the Units in which you are enrolled.  

We evaluate most of our Units paper based, so this means that a short survey will be administered in your class. Your feedback about your Units is taken very seriously and the Chief Examiners use this information to continually improve the quality of the Units. 

We would really appreciate any constructive criticism about how we can make the Units even better, plus of course any positive feedback about why you thought your Units were really good!
