1. AIAL Essay Prize in Administrative Law
The Australian Institute of Administrative Law Inc (AIAL) is inviting entries for the 2011 AIAL Essay Prize in Administrative Law.
The essay may be on any topic relating to administrative law. The length of the essay is to be 6,000 – 8,000 words. The amount of the prize is A$2,000.
Entries must be submitted by Sunday 1 May, 2011 to the AIAL at : PO Box 3149, BMDC, ACT 2617 or to linda.crebbin@act.gov.au.

2. Announcing the CMCL Medal 2011
The CMCL Medal seeks succinct, innovative analyses of contemporary issues in media law. The winner will receive a medal, a prize of $1,500, and an invitation to develop their paper for publication in the Media & Arts Law Review. Other finalists will receive $500 and a certificate.
Eligibility – Final year JD and LLB students in Australia and New Zealand, and those who graduated in the last five years and currently reside in Australia or New Zealand. Written entries due Monday 25 July 2011 (3000-5000 words including any footnotes). All entries must strictly adhere to the word limit.
Finalists will be announced on the CMCL website – Monday 8 August, 2011
Final Presentation Dinner – Monday 5 September, 2011

3. Applications Open – Victorian Women Lawyers Mentoring Program
Victorian Women Lawyers are delighted to again invite all female second-final year Monash Law School students to participate in the 2011 Law Student Mentoring Program. Now in its fourth year, the Program has developed into a celebrated vehicle for encouraging the next generation of female lawyers to gain valuable insights into the legal profession.

4. Exhibition – “Jury Service”
The ‘Jury Service’ exhibition will be on the first floor of the Law Library, near the lab, from Monday 21 March, 2011. Find out what to expect if you are called for jury service. This colourful exhibition shows jury service from a historical perspective and examines the representation of juries in popular culture.
