1. Book Launch – Effective Company Disclosure in the Digital Age


Effective corporate reporting and disclosure are critical in financial markets to promote vigorous competition, optimal performance, and transparency. This book examines whether existing disclosure frameworks in eight countries with the world’s most significant securities exchanges achieve these objectives.

Drawing on extensive empirical findings, Associate Professor North identifies the policies and practices that contribute most to improving the overall quality of listed company reporting and communication.

3. How Will Australia’s Human Rights Record Stack Up Before the UN?


The Castan Centre for Human Rights Law, together with the United Nations Association of Australia and the Human Rights Law Centre present: “How will Australia’s human rights record stack up before the UN?”


Australia will appear before the United Nations Human Rights Council to have its human rights record scrutinised by its peers as part of the Universal Periodic Review.

How does the UPR work? What criticism is Australia likely to face? And what is likely to change as a result?
