1. Application for JD Professional Practice LAW 5050

Applications are open for Clinical Period 4 2016 of the Professional Practice Elective Unit which takes place at Monash Oakleigh Legal Service, next to Clayton campus.

Clinical Period 4 2016 starting dates are:

  • Group A: 11 August – 10 November 2016
  • Group B: 15 August – 14 November 2016

Applications close on Friday 15 July 2016. Applications are not done on Wes.

2. PhD Scholarship Opportunity: Legal Services Use in Road Traffic Injury Compensation Claims

Expressions of interest are sought for a full-time PhD scholarship in the Faculty of Law and the Accident Research Centre at Monash University.

The scholarship is funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council Centre of Research Excellence in Recovery after Road Traffic Injury.

The CRE brings together leading researchers at Griffith University, the University of Queensland, the University of Sydney and Monash University.

3. PhD Scholarship Opportunity: UK Scholarships

Scholarships for citizens of developed Commonwealth countries including Australia are offered for PhD and split-site PhD study in the UK.

These scholarships are funded by the UK Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) and the Scottish Government, in conjunction with UK universities.

4. Volunteers needed for Oral advocacy assessment for ICC and Jury Workshop

The Victorian Bar is looking for volunteers to play the role of witnesses for the advocacy assessment component of our Indictable Crime Certificate (ICC).

The mock trials will be held during June and July 2016, 9.00am-4.00pm in the Federal Court Level 9, 305 William Street, Melbourne (Corner William & Latrobe streets). We will have more dates released for assessments in June and July.

You will be given a copy of the materials particularly a witness statement which summarises your evidence. You will need to be very familiar with the facts and be prepared to give your evidence and be cross-examined.

It is an opportunity to see some experienced advocates at work.
