1. Hepatitis Victoria work opportunity credited towards your degree

Monash Faculty of Law has joined together with Hepatitis Victoria to offer two students a unique
opportunity to gain valuable work experience, and to undertake valuable research with real-world
impact.

The opportunity will ultimately be able to be credited towards your degree.

2. Submit now to The Reasonable Observer

Are you interested in social justice within the law? Do you have a creative knack for writing?

The Monash Law Students’ Society are currently looking for student contributions to The Reasonable Observer.

If you have recently written a piece on a topical issue relevant to social justice and are looking for somewhere to publish it, then we would love to feature it on our blog!

3. Law Week 14-20 May 2018

Law Week is an annual festival of events that makes learning about the law easy. Held in May each year, Law Week offers Victorians the opportunity to find answers to their legal questions, discover the history of the courts or simply enjoy the spectacle of the law.

The program includes mock trials, behind-the-scenes tours, expert info sessions, panel forums and more.

4. How does $10k funding to accelerate your startup idea sound?

Are you working on an idea, a startup or social enterprise? Do you believe that inventing a job is better than finding a job? Do you want to create value in the world?

Applications to the Accelerator Program are now open!

We are looking for the curious, those who have found problems that aren’t being solved well. For the creators who are relentless at hacking together solutions and aren’t afraid to launch them. For the people who see problems in the world and take action to change them through innovative means.

Join us at our Info Night on Tuesday 10 April at 5.30pm where we will talk you through the program, introduce you to some of last years’ cohort and walk you through how to create a solid application to the program. Register for the info night here.

5. LSS office location

While the Law Building is under renovation, the LSS (Law Students’ Society) office will operate from Room 354, Level 3, Law Building, 15 Ancora Imparo Way.
Students can purchase their memberships and also pay for events here.

6. Global Opportunities Fair

The Global Opportunities Fair is Monash University’s flagship event for learning abroad, which showcases an exciting range of opportunities at 170+ partner universities.

Explore the breadth of options available to you, from faculty-led short term programs to semester-length exchange programs.

You will also receive advice about financial support and have a chance to ask questions to partner institutions and Faculty exchange coordinators. 

Current exchange students here at Monash and those who have studied at one of our partner institutions as part of their degree will also be volunteering at the event in order to facilitate invaluable peer-to-peer advising.

Date: Wednesday 11 April

Time: 11:00am – 3:00pm

Venue: Main Dining Hall, Campus Centre, Level 1, Clayton Campus

Registration: Students are encouraged to register (although registration is not a requirement of attendance) at the Monash Abroad Global Opportunities Fair website.

7. 2018 CHASS Australia Prizes – Nominations Open

Nominations are currently open for the CHASS Australia Student Prize.
The Student prize is for a student project, performance or exhibition that best exemplifies the contribution of the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (HASS) fields to our understanding of our nation and us.
Students enrolled at any level in any Australia tertiary educational institution are eligible to be nominated.
Sponsored by CHASS, the finalist will be awarded a $500 cash prize and recognition from our esteemed Student prize jury.
Please note there is no nomination fee, and nominations are open to anyone, as long as the nominated work fits within the specified criteria.
