1. Leave No One Behind 2019 – open for applications

Are you an inquisitive change-maker?

Then, apply for this year’s Leave No One Behind program. Here’s your opportunity to explore, learn and shape a better world.

Applications are now open for Leave No One Behind, a social business competition, reaching out to students and recent graduates for innovative ideas that address disadvantage in our local communities.

You’ll develop your capacity as a leader and build the skills to increase your impact.

How it works

Leave No One Behind will kick off with a Social Innovation Summit on Saturday 10 August 2019. The Summit is open to all students – not just those looking to enter the competition.

Following the Social Innovation Summit, you’ll form a team, and put together a business proposal. We’ll run a series of workshops, and you’ll finesse that proposal into a short, one-page business plan. We’ll hear your pitch, and award prize money to the best concept so you can bring your idea to life.

How to apply

  1. Sign up for Social Innovation Summit on Saturday 10 August 2019
  2. Prepare a 60–90 second video presenting your early idea or sharing your passion for social change
  3. Upload your application at Leave No One Behind webpage before midnight on Monday 12 August

2. Jindal India Immersion Programme – January 2020

Monash Law students have the exciting opportunity to participate in the India Immersion Programme: An Introduction to Law, Business and Society in India. It will be held from 8 – 26 January 2020 at the O.P. Jindal Global University, India.

The India Immersion Programme will allow students to participate in seminars, lectures and field visits with leading academics and professionals from a variety of industries. The course provides its participants with an introduction to India’s diverse regulatory, business and social impact landscape.

The Programme is a valuable experience for Australian University Students studying Law, Business and/or Arts.

Applications are now open via Monash Abroad Portal and there is $3000 New Colombo Plan funding available to cover program costs for eligible students.

3. MinterEllison Beyond University Borders Competition

This competition is brought to you by MinterEllison and the Monash Law Ambassadors.

It is your opportunity to individually enter into the inter-varsity essay writing and public speaking competition by submitting a legal essay (no more than 3,000 words) on any and all commercial law areas.

If you make it to the finals you will be competing against other Victorian university candidates within the MinterEllison building on 31 July 2019.

4. Vice-Chancellor’s Ancora Imparo Leadership Program

Attention all first-year students. Applications for the 2020 Vice-Chancellor’s Ancora Imparo Leadership Program are now open.

This exclusive program will develop your leadership confidence and competence with its:

  • Friendly and talented cohort of 40 students representing all Monash faculties
  • Three-day, fully-funded residential at a coastal resort
  • Series of eight evening seminars with guest speakers from a wide range of fields and disciplines
  • Optional service learning projects; and
  • $500 stipend for all participants.

You’ll emerge from the program with the skills and knowledge to make the change you want to see in the world, and will benefit from your membership of the program’s global alumni network which includes three Rhodes Scholars.
