Research Project: What constitutes success in Higher Education in Australia for Students with Disability?

Call for Participants

Edwina Newham, AccessAbility Adviser, Student Engagement at Swinburne University is conducting interviews as part of a research study to increase our understanding of what success means for students with disability in Higher Education in Australia.

Who is This Survey For?

The research aims to obtain in-depth and important insight from students who are users of AccessAbility/Disability services and require reasonable adjustment support because of having a disability, medical or mental health condition.

What Does the Survey Entail?

Edwina would like to conduct an interview with students. This will take around 25 – 30 minutes and is informal. Your responses to the questions will be recorded and kept confidential.

Why Have the Survey?

The interview data and findings will form part of a research project that will be made available to participants and other interested parties later.

The project aims to provide important information on what works and helps students with disability to succeed in their studies.

The research is looking at revising the current definition of success in Higher Education.

How Will Privacy Be Maintained?

Each interview will be assigned a code to ensure that personal identifiers are not revealed during the analysis and write up of findings.

Survey Details

There is no monetary compensation for participating in this study, however your participation will go toward a unique and important contribution of disability and Higher Education.

The interviews will be conducted remotely (MS teams or Zoom) and you will be able to obtain a transcript of the interviews later.

  2. Include a weekday and time that suits you to be interviewed.
  3. Include any access requirements you require.
