1. Breakfast with Barristers

The Monash Law School Ambassadors Program 2010 presents Breakfast with Barristers:

Time: 8 am – 10 am
Venue: Monash Law Chambers, 472 Bourke St, Melbourne
Breakfast: Fully catered
Dress: Business attire
Tickets: $10 per person

 Breakfast with Barristers is an opportunity for enthusiastic law students to meet with established professionals in law and have a one on one chat over an informal, casual setting. Students may ask questions regarding advocacy, areas of specialization within the law and anything regarding legal practice over a fully catered breakfast.

Come to get an idea of life in the legal profession and a fun day out. Places are strictly limited to 50 highly future-focused students.

2. Castan Centre 10th Anniversary Dinner

The Castan Centre for Human Rights Law invites you to help celebrate its ten years of achievement in the human rights field.  Over the past decade, the Centre has built an impressive reputation, especially in the areas of public education, research, teaching, student programs, training and policy.

3. Career Start

Date: Tuesday 23 November – Thursday 25 November, 2010
Time: 9 am – 4:30 pm
Venue: Caulfield Campus

Career Start is a 3-day program supporting students and recent graduates in their preparation for professional employment. There are 70 places available.

Who should attend:

The program is open to current students and graduates from 2009 preparing for professional employment.

Program activities:

Learn about graduate recruitment
Practise interview skills
Complete a practice assessment task
Hear from employers about what they look for in candidates

4. Developments in the Legal Landscape in Singapore

Contact Singapore, together with the Singapore Legal Service, the Singapore High Commission in Australia and the Overseas Singaporean Unit are proud to present the above event in Australia.

The event will provide law undergraduates currently studying in Australian universities with specific information about the recent changes in Singapore’s legal landscape and the subject of Australian law graduates and working professionals seeking qualification in Singapore. 

The Chief Justice of Singapore, Chief Justice Chan Sek Keong and Judge of Appeal, Justice V K Rajah, will grace the event and participate in the discussions.
