2. Request for Legal Researcher

Research and prepare a dossier of public record.

The successful individual will have some knowledge of corporate law and be able to examine and analyse court records and documents.

It is anticipated that it will be one or two days work. It will be necessary for the researcher to conduct the work on a confidential basis and enter a confidentiality agreement. The successful applicant will be able to work in a confidential environment, as they will be dealing with material of a sensitive nature.

The dates are flexible though it’s anticipated that the work would occur in January 2012

3. Volunteer Summer Research Intern for the Office of Senator Sarah Hanson-Young, Canberra

The Australian Greens are seeking a later-year law student to assist Senator Sarah Hanson-Young’s policy team with research for the Joint Select Committee on Australia’s Immigration Detention Network.  Senator Hanson-Young is Deputy Chair of the inquiry.

The position is offered on a volunteer basis and offers valuable experience for your curriculum vitae. Students with a strong academic background who have completed subjects in migration or human rights law are encouraged to apply.

Position type: Fulltime for two weeks in January

Closing date: Monday 19 December

Duration: Two weeks in Canberra over summer and potential for further remote involvement over Feb/Mar 2012.
