Position purpose:

Monash aims to facilitate a positive and successful transition for all commencing students to their discipline(s) of study, campus, and learning environments through engagement processes which provide academic, social, administrative and geographic familiarisation with Monash and embrace the diversity of their previous experiences.

As part of the suite of transition programs, Monash is introducing an early engagement program for students who are “First in Family” to attend university. The aim of the program is to provide a supportive service throughout the students first year using multiple communication channels including phone contact at key times from Student Success Advisers.

Student Success Advisers are responsible for providing general advice in relation to common transition issues experienced by students, making referrals to appropriate support services, and completing necessary record-keeping for each contact session.

This position reports to the Coordinator of Transition and Retention, Health and Wellbeing.
