1. Australian Institute of International Affairs Victoria (AIIAV) – International Careers Conference 2016

The International Careers Conference (ICC) provides inspiration and careers advice for undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as those seeking a mid-career change.

The ICC gives you a chance to hear from highly regarded professionals from diverse international careers and to ask questions about ways to access your dream career, and what to expect once you are there.

The conference is structured around three keynote addresses and panels ranging from government, international business, and international agencies and non-government organisations.

Career Connect offers Monash students work rights consultations by appointment at both Clayton and Caulfield campuses. If you have concerns about your employment conditions, please make an appointment for a private discussion with our employment consultant.

4. Menzies Memorial Scholarships

The Sir Robert Menzies Memorial Foundation offers two post-graduate scholarships in law: the Sir Robert Menzies Memorial Scholarship in Law and the Sir Ninian Stephen Menzies Scholarship in International Law. Each is tenable at a prestigious overseas university.

The foundation is looking for lawyers who wish to do postgraduate studies at an overseas university with the aim of developing their leadership, knowledge and skills for the benefit of others.

At the time of application, candidates must hold a law degree with an academic record in law that is equivalent to a First Class Honours Degree (H1), normally from an Australian university.

Both scholarships are valued at up to AUD$75,000 per year for one or two years.

5. Student Futures – online tool to help prepare for your career

Careers Connect have launched a website for student careers, called Student Futures.

Student Futures is an online tool to help you prepare for your career.

It helps students find opportunities, track progress toward career-oriented goals, hones in on basic job preparation (CV, interviews, etc) and contains units on employability skills.

6. Temporary/ Fixed Term Administrative Work – CBD Legal Precinct

Barristers’ Chambers Limited has temporary administrative work upcoming based around the legal precinct in the Melbourne CBD supporting our Barristers.

A variety of assignments will be available to cover annual leave and project work.

Assignments will vary in contract length and will range from entry-level administration to executive assistance.
