1. Karoon Gas Australia Ltd Legal Internship 2018

Karoon is an Australian, ASX listed, oil and gas company with offshore assets in Australia and South America.
Karoon is looking for enthusiastic, final or penultimate year law students with excellent academic results to join us in a part time internship throughout 2018.
As a legal intern at Karoon, you will gain invaluable experience in international oil and gas contracts and transactions, including acquisitions, farm-outs, joint ventures, seismic acquisition, offshore drilling and oil field development and a better understanding of oil and gas commercial and technical concepts, drivers and terminology.

2. Doxa Cadetship

Doxa Youth Foundation is an organisation working with young people to access opportunities that assist students to reach their full potential. The Cadetship Program supports young people who have experienced some challenges in their lives. Our candidates for this program are either 1st or 2nd year University students.

Doxa have several opportunities for a Cadetship for students from disadvantaged backgrounds studying Law. The cadetship will provide the below benefits:

  • Up to 8 weeks of work placement at their Sponsor Company each year
  • A mentor at their Sponsor Company
  • $120 per week living allowance for the duration of their degree
  • $700 book allowance each year
  • 1 Professional Development Camp each year
  • A professional suit in their first year

3. Victorian Family Law Pathways Network – seeking volunteers

The Victorian Family Law Pathways Network (VFLPN) is an initiative funded by the Attorney General’s Department to provide links and training opportunities for professionals within the family law system.

VFLPN coordinates projects to assist lawyers, court staff and self-represented litigants in making referrals and booking appointments for community services. This is provided through a Kiosk we run at the Family Court. Kiosk attendants, by use of an applicationVFLPN has developed, help lawyers and self-represented litigants make referrals to community services.

VFLPN is looking at recruiting a number of volunteers to assist us in running the Kiosk.

Applications close at 5:00pm on Monday 19 February. Interested parties should submit a brief cover letter outlining why they would like to be a part of the program and current CV.

Volunteer Opportunities are available in 2018 at the Monash Oakleigh Legal Service for Monash Law Students.

Wednesday Night Advice Only Service

Applications for the Wednesday Night General Advice Session at Monash Oakleigh Legal Service will open at 8pm 25 February 2018 and close 10pm 4 March 2018. Please note that late applications will not be accepted.

You are applying to be part of the Wednesday night volunteer team, which provides advice to clients experiencing a wide range of legal problems.

Students are rostered to volunteer on Wednesday nights on a fortnightly basis from 6:00pm until approximately 8:30pm.

Orientation will be held on Wednesday 11 April 2018

Sessions will commence on 18 April 2018

Tuesday Night Family Law

The Tuesday Night Family Law Advice Service handles matters relating to Children, Divorce and Intervention Orders.

Students are rostered to volunteers on a Tuesday night on a fortnightly basis from 6:00pm until approximately 8:30pm.

Applications for Tuesday Night Family Advice Session at Monash Oakleigh Legal Service will open 8pm 25 February 2018 and close 10pm 4 March 2018.

Orientation will be held on Tuesday 10 April 2018

Sessions will commence on Tuesday 17 April 2018

In each session, volunteers will:

  • Interview clients
  • Develop practical and research skills
  • Have the opportunity to learn and work under the supervision of qualified lawyers and barristers
