2. 2020 EY Oceania Tax Consulting Challenge

Can you solve a business challenge faced by a growing number of companies in the age of digital disruption?

If you’ve got an interest in business and a problem-solving mindset, EY’s Tax Consulting Challenge is for you! Demonstrate your analytical ability and you could win an EY internship. Our Oceania winner will also jet off to Amsterdam in November 2020 to participate in the International Final.

No prior tax knowledge or experience is required so seize the opportunity to get ahead of your peers!

How to enter the Challenge

  1. Go to www.ey.com/au/tcc  to access the TCC case study and submit your entry by 11.59pm, Monday 13 April 2020 (AEST).
  2. Shortlisted entries will be selected and notified no later than 7 days prior to the Regional Final and the entrants will be invited to present their case study recommendations to a EY Tax Partner/s in the week commencing 4 May 2020.
  3. EY will select state winners who will attend the Oceania Final on 20 May 2020 in Melbourne.
  4. The Oceania Final will incorporate individual and group challenges, information and informal networking sessions.  The panel of judges will nominate an overall winner to represent EY Oceania at the international competition hosted in Amsterdam in November 2020.  The overall winner of this global competition will receive an all-expenses paid around the world trip to visit EY Tax centres in London, New York and Hong Kong.

Fine print

Entrants must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or hold (Australian or New Zealand) Permanent Residency in the country in which they are studying and applying. The competition is open to undergraduate, postgraduate or masters students from any degree discipline, graduating between 2021–2023.

 

3. Supreme Court of WA associateships

Applications are invited for a number of positions as personal staff to Judicial Officers at the Supreme Court of Western Australia. The length of tenure for each position is 12 or 24 months (commencing January 2021). The relevant positions will be identified in the latter part of 2020.

Prospective applicants should possess the following attributes:

  • A law degree, or nearly completed law degree;
  • A high level of academic achievement (Honours or equivalent is desirable, but not essential);
  • High-level research and analytical skills;
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills; and
  • Editorial skills are an advantage.

The Aurora Internship Program has contributed to capacity building for Indigenous and Indigenous-sector organisations by placing over 2,700 talented and passionate interns over 14 years.

The Program continues to place students and graduates with varied backgrounds including law at Indigenous sector organisations involved in native title, land rights, justice, policy and community development, health, social welfare and research, Australia wide.
