Applications for the 2021 NSW Government Graduate Program are Now Open!

The 18-month Program offers three unique rotations across government agencies, and allows Graduates to build their own career, no matter what degree they studied.

Talented and passionate Graduates from all disciplines and backgrounds looking to launch their career in NSW Government are welcome to apply.

What does the Graduate Program offer?

Those selected for the 2021 Graduate Program will gain:

• 18 months’ experience working across three NSW Government agencies
• Meaningful work that contributes to the future of NSW
• A supportive environment with a personal mentor and executive sponsor
• Exposure to the largest professional network of leaders, analysts, policymakers and educators in Australia
• Ongoing role offer on successful completion of the Program

In 2021, the Program will employ Graduates in two streams: a Primary Stream, and a Legal Stream

• The Primary Stream is open to Graduates from all disciplines and backgrounds who are interested in a career in NSW Government, and Graduates will complete a Diploma of Government during the program.
• The Legal Stream is designed for Graduates looking to have a legal career within NSW Government, and will provide Graduates with experience in litigation, legal advice and policy development. Graduates must have a legal degree and be willing to commence and complete their Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice during the Program.

Further Education Bursaries for Students Who are Blind or have Low Vision

Each year, Vision Australia awards Further Education Bursaries to a select number of students who are blind or have low vision.

The bursaries provide adaptive technology to help students fully participate and succeed in their chosen studies. Assistive technology can eliminate barriers to education and enhance access to information. It enables students to read course material, conduct research and improve their student life.

Join in the 2020 UniSport Australia Esports Championships

Into Esports? Then join Team Monash and represent Monash University at the 2020 UniSport Australia Esports Championships (UAEC)!

The delivery of the 2020 UniSport Australia Esports Championships (UAEC) has been confirmed and will take place from 27 July – 10 September, 2020.

Competition Information

Four competitions will take place across the following titles:

• FIFA 20 – PS4
• Super Smash Bro’s. Ultimate. – Nintendo Switch
• Forza Motorsport 7 – PC *

Cummins South Pacific in Scoresby – Mentoring now Available

Australian Network on Disability (AND) have some fantastic mentoring opportunities in the Scoresby area.

AND run the PACE mentoring program that is open to any person that identifies as having a disability and is over 18. The program pairs the PWD with a professional mentor for 6 to 8 sessions to discuss all things education and employment.

The current opportunity is with Cummins South Pacific in Scoresby who will have 10 mentors involved in the program in a variety of areas including Engineering, Business, Finance, Business and Marketing.

Monash Artists Give Respect

We can’t create a respectful community alone – we need your help. You can do this by getting involved in our Give Respect X Respectful Communities Art Prize. Give Respect is a student and staff collaboration that aims to promote respectful behaviour at Monash.

How to enter

You’ll need to submit an original piece of art (previous works are allowed) that relates to one of the themes listed. It could be visual art, photography or poetry.

Submissions are due on or before 31 August 2020. Please see this Monash Artists Give Respect web page for more information on entry and prizes available.

Supporting Students with Disability to Succeed in Higher Education

Associate Professor Tim Pitman, Senior Research Fellow, School of Education, Curtin University, and Equity Fellow, National Centre for Student Equity in Higher Education (NCSEHE) would like to know what barriers students with disability face, both at university and when getting the work they want after graduation.

Associate Professor Pitman is promoting a survey that he is conducting as part of a national project, funded by the National Centre for Student Equity in Higher Education. The project is being overseen by an advisory group chaired by Professor Katie Ellis (Curtin University) and includes members from the Australian Disability Clearinghouse on Education and Training (ADCET) and Vision Australia.

About The Project

The project is being conducted by Tim Pitman (Curtin University) and David Eckstein (Swinburne University) and is funded by a grant from the National Centre for Student Equity in Higher Education.

The survey is designed to gather feedback from students with disability as well as staff working in higher education institutions, regardless of whether or not their job role involves supporting students with disability.

Your opinions and experience are sought to help Australia’s universities do more to help students with disability get the work they want when they graduate. Students with disability are under-represented in the labour market. You can make a difference by contributing to national research into:

• the university environment,
• how universities support these students’ careers, and
• new things that can be done to help.

Prize Draw

Students completing the student survey will be eligible for entry into a prize draw. There will be ten winners, each receiving a $100 Amazon gift voucher.
