NDCO Student Survey

Tuesday, September 29th, 2020

Have Your Say About COVID-19

The National Disability Coordination Officer  (NDCO) Program is inviting tertiary students with disability to take part in a short 5-10 minute survey to better understand their experiences of study during COVID-19 and to explore the elements of access to, and inclusion within the online learning environment.

This will inform the development of tools and materials to support students and the tertiary sector to create an inclusive online learning environment.

Participation in the survey is voluntary and will remain anonymous.

Your feedback is important as it will help to develop tools to support students with disability in the online learning environment.

In completing the survey you will also go into a draw to win 1 of 5 $100 vouchers.

The survey will close on Friday 30 October.

To take part in the survey please visit: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZWS6NWH

AWETISM 2020 Virtual Expo

AWETISM 2020 Virtual Expo – Student Presenter Opportunity

Seeking Autistic Young People To Showcase Their Passions, Interests or Talents!

From: Chris Varney at the I CAN Network

A cornerstone of all of our work at I CAN is the importance of celebrating Autistic passions and interests. These are the things that bring us joy, comfort and allow the world to see what Autistics CAN do.

In the coming days we will be announcing the details of our AWETISM 2020 Virtual Expo (scheduled for Friday, 20 November), an online version via the event platform Vfairs of our annual flagship event that showcases the in-depth knowledge and talents of our young people.

The AWETISM 2020 Expo will be our biggest and best I CAN event to date!

We are putting out an early call for Autistic young people across Australia (ages 9-20) to express interest in delivering a (pre-recorded) brief online presentation about their particular passion, unique theory or talent.

In the past, we’ve had young people showcase everything from interpretative dance to singing to in-depth knowledge of sport, gaming, transport systems…and more!

PLEASE NOTE: Presentations will be pre-recorded via Zoom prior to the event guided by an I CAN team member. On the day you will still be able to view your talk live and be apart of the short Q&A following your talk.

Your presentation will also be available to view via Vfairs for one month following the event.

We are especially keen to have young people from our I CAN schools and online mentoring programs take part, but the invitation is open to Autistic young people nationwide.

Learn More and Express Your Interest

Interested young people should fill out this Expression of Interest form by Monday 28 September 2020. There are limited places available so be quick!

If you have any questions, please reach out to us at events@icannetwork.com.au.

One of the best parts of our work is watching Autistic young people gain confidence in sharing their passions and interests. We are so excited to bring this event to the public in November.

Please stay tuned for our official AWETISM Expo 2020 announcement in the coming days!

We look forward to hearing from you!

Chris, on behalf of the I CAN Team
