1. Late Enrolment

The closing date for re-enrolment was Monday 22 November, 2010.
 
If you have missed re-enrolling, you may still do so between Tuesday 23 November to Friday 17 December, 2010 but a $270.00 late fee will be applied.  If you do not re-enrol within this period you risk losing your place.

2. Monash University Law Chambers Opening Hours for December 2010

3. Summer Work Opportunity for Law Students – Cyco – Tech

Cyco-Tech are in the automotive market as manufacturers, exporters and marketers of high performance automotive components for Holden, Chevrolet and other companies. They are currently looking to expand. 

They are looking to fill a position with a 3rd/4th year student with general knowledge in patents and intellectual property. This would provide them with the industry knowledge and experience.

Other tasks include arranging and organising license agreements with other companies that Cyco-Tech are forming relationships with, board meetings, secretary work etc.

As they are a automotive company they hope to attract a student that may be interested in this industry.

1. Chief Justice’s Medal for Excellence and Community Service – Nominations are now open!

The Chief Justice’s Medal for Excellence and Community Service is awarded to a student who is in their final year of a Bachelor’s Degree in law at any Victorian university in 2010 and who is judged to have demonstrated a commitment to community service throughout their law studies as well as excellence in scholarship.

1. 2011 Constitutional Law Conference and Dinner

Date: Friday 18 February, 2011
Time: 8:30 am – 5 pm
Venue: Glbert + Tobin Centre of Public Law

The conference will focus on developments in the High Court and other Australian courts in 2010 and beyond. It will be addressed by leading practitioners, government lawyers, judges and academics.

The conference will be followed by dinner at NSW Parliament House, hosted by NSW Attorney-General, the Hon John Hatzistergos, MLC.

3. Costello Lecture

Fair trade and honesty – the watermarks of the Trade Practices Act

Speaker: Monash alumnus, Mr Graeme Samuel AC, Chairman, Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (LLM 1977).

Whether its bunk beds, bank mergers, phone contracts or corporate collusion, the enforcement of the Act through the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission is central to our lives.

Graeme Samuel, Chairman of the ACCC will set out the reach of the legislation, what it means for fair and honest dealings, and how it ‘enhances the welfare of Australians’.
