2. IP Osgoode

IP Osgoode, the Intellectual Property Law and Technology Program at Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, Canada, is seeking a Post‐Doctoral Scholar for a three year term and two Graduate Fellows for a six month to one year term (with a potential for renewal).

3. Policy Internship

Noel Pearson, Australia’s most influential Indigenous leader and regular columnist in The Australian, is seeking highly motivated and academically outstanding university interns to assist with research and policy analysis at the Cape York Institute during the Australian university summer holiday period.

Policy internships offered by the Cape York Institute are a unique opportunity for students to gain exposure to the innovative social policy thinking of Noel Pearson and to provide advice that will have an impact on national policy debates.

1. 2013 Legal Internships

ABC Legal Services is offering a limited number of unpaid Legal internships to students who need to undertake practical experience in order to be admitted to practice as lawyers.

The following internships will be available:

  • Monday 11 February – Friday 23 March (6 weeks)
  • Monday 25 March – Friday 3 May (6 weeks)
  • Monday 6 May – Friday 14 June (6 weeks)
  • Monday 17 June – Friday 26 July (6 weeks)
  • Monday 29 July – Friday 30 August (5 weeks)
  • Monday 2 September – Friday 4 October (5 weeks)
  • Tuesday 8 October – Friday 8 November (5 weeks)
  • Monday 11 November – Friday 13 December (5 weeks)

1. Bring Your Bills Day

North Melbourne Legal Service is providing a volunteering opportunity for Monash Law students for the event on 24 October 2012. Bring Your Bills Day seeks to bring together relevant industry ombudsmen, community partners, lawyers and financial counsellors to assist with any issues relating to fines and bills. Bring Your Bills Day is to assist disadvantaged/newly settled individuals resolve any issues relating to bills and fines and it is organised by Natasha Maugueret, one of lawyers at the North Melbourne Legal Service.

  • North Melbourne Legal Service is seeking law students to assist with greeting clients, in-take of clients and general set-up and clean-up for Bring Your Bills Day.
  • Law students who can speak Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Somali, Amharic, Dinka, Spanish and Turkish would be an added asset.
  • Time commitment: There will be an information session on 16 October 2-3.30 pm at North Melbourne Legal Service (Level 1, 504 Victoria Street, North Melbourne) but most important is being at the Church of All Nations (180 Palmerston Street, Carlton) on Wednesday 24 October 2012 from 9 am-4 pm.
  • Lunch will be provided.

3. Summer Clerk Work Experience Opportunity

Belbridge Hague Solicitors are seeking two highly motivated 2nd or 3rd Year Law Students over the coming summer holidays to assist solicitors and gain invaluable experience in applying legal knowledge and skills to the resolution of real-life legal problems.

2. Researcher to the NSW Court of Appeal 2013

Applications are invited for the position of Researcher to the NSW Court of Appeal in 2013.

The appointment would commence in late January 2013 for one year. As at 1 July 2012, the salary for the position of Researcher was $57,339 plus employer super contributions and leave loading.

3. Seasonal Clerkships

Our seasonal clerkship program will provide law students with an opportunity to gain firsthand experience of the law in practice, together with an insight into the firm’s culture.

Each year we conduct a three week single rotation program during the university holidays in November/December and June/July.

We understand that a clerkship program is a time for learning and you will receive all the coaching and support you need from all members of the team from Directors to Graduates. We will also assign you two buddies’, a Senior Associate from the team you will be working and a junior lawyer from another team within the firm.
