1. 20th Lucinda Lecture – Legislative Intention – Clayton Campus

Presented by: The Honourable Justice Stephen Gageler, the High Court of Australia

Stephen John Gageler was appointed to the High Court in October 2012. At the time of his appointment he was Solicitor-General of Australia. He is a graduate of the Australian National University and has post-graduate qualifications from Harvard University. He was admitted as a barrister of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 1989 and was appointed Senior Counsel in 2000. Before his appointment as Solicitor-General in 2008, he practised as a barrister extensively throughout Australia, principally in constitutional law, administrative law and commercial law.

3. IACP Collaborative Practice Event: What Does it Mean to be a „we‟ in the Collaborative Process

This 2-day workshop will clarify the expectations each professional brings to the table regarding: the roles we play, how we each relate to the clients, how responsibility for the client and for managing the expectations and timing of the process is shared within the Team, as well as how and when the law is introduced into the conversation.  We will explore the hierarchies and tensions which inevitably show up in our work, created in part, by the pressure of being part of a ‘collaborative community.’
