1. JD Careers Information Session

Lloyd England, X-Legal Recruiter and Con Moraitis, Career Education Consultant, Employment and Career Development will be running an ‘Enhancing your Employability in the Law Careers Information Session for JD Students.

Both JD streams taught out at Clayton on that day are encouraged to attend and the event is also open to any other JD students.

2. Rescheduling of PG Unit

The unit LAW7445 Issues in consumer policy timetabled for semester 2, 2010 has been rescheduled. The unit will now be offered in April 2011.

3. Workshop 2: Legal Analysis Technique

1. National Graduate Law Conference 2010 at ANU

The ANU College of Law invites graduate research students to attend The Other Side of the Law: Beyond Legal Research conference. We especially invite candidates conducting comparative research, interdisciplinary research, and research on emerging areas of law that relate to contemporary policy challenges.

Students are invited to present a paper or come as an attendee to participate in discussions about the presentations from students and some invited guest speakers.

1. Extended Opening Hours For Exam Period – Now Including Friday Evenings

For the first time this year, the Law Library will remain open until 9 pm on Fridays during the exam period, for four Fridays commencing Friday 4 June, 2010.

This is in addition to the extended weekend hours of 10 am to 5 pm Saturday – Sunday. The dates for extended hours on weekends are Saturday 5 June – Sunday 6 June, Saturday 12 June – Sunday 13 June, Saturday 19 June – Sunday 20 June, Saturday 26 June – Sunday 27 June, 2010.

Position Title: Legal Associate
Job Level: Graduate
Salary: $55,913 – $60,707
Duration: 12 months commencing ASAP (possible further twelve 12 months)

Job Description:
The successful applicant will be required to undertake legal research and produce written work for the Puisne Judges of the Court. 
There is also a requirement to carry out administrative functions in preparation for Court sittings and act as Judicial Support Officer. 
There will also be a requirement to present the legal component of the weekly information sessions for the public.
