Applications are open for Clinical Period 3 2016 of the Professional Practice Elective Unit which takes place at Monash Oakleigh Legal Service, next to Clayton campus.

2. Library Skills – Planning, Preparing and Writing Long Essays


Library:  City – Law Chambers


This seminar will assist students in developing strategies to research the literature, structure an argument and write a logical and coherent legal essay.


This will benefit JD students about to commence electives where they are required to write long essays of around 6000 words.

2. Jury Skills Workshop


The Victorian Bar is looking for student volunteers to participate in a Jury Skills workshop.


As in the past, we are looking for students to act as jurors and/or witnesses for this training course. This is a wonderful opportunity to see inside excellent advocacy and

the dynamics of juries. It is an opportunity for JD students to meet barristers and watch some of them in action in a mock trial.


No prior work experience is required.


The Victorian Bar is running this Jury Skills workshop for Barristers on Saturday 14 November, from 8.30am-5pm at the County Court.

Lunch will be provided.

Students are required to send Cover Letter and CV to bianca.stajcic@vicbar.com.au

Monash Law is hoping to identify alternate study spaces to advise students where in Melbourne CBD is available for quiet study; we therefore seek feedback from the student cohort as to where students currently stud after hours and on weekends when the Law Chambers is closed.
