Situating privacy within the context of political philosophy, Associate Professor Janice Richardson’s Law and the Philosophy of Privacy highlights the way in which struggles concerning the meaning of privacy have always been political. The Aurora Internship Program places law, anthropology and other social science students and graduates at Native Title Representative Bodies (NTRBs), Prescribed Bodies Corporates (PBCs) and at other organisations involved in policy development, research and social justice, all working to support the broader Indigenous sector Australia-wide.

The Program introduces candidates to career opportunities in native title and the Indigenous sector and at the same time provides assistance to under-resourced and over-worked organisations.

The on-line application period for the Winter 2016 round of internships closes on Friday 1 April 2016.

2. English Language Assistance

The English Connect program is Monash’s new English language assistance program. It is aimed at international undergraduate and postgraduate students. English Connect is an expanded version of the Conversational English program trialled last year.

• Let’s Chat – conversation in a fun environment – 1 hour each week over weeks 3-11, with over 40 sessions per week offered
• Peer Support – one on one help with academic English (written and oral), 20 minutes, no need to book. Held at John Medley Library, Mon-Thurs 10am to 2pm
• Workshops – Grammar workshops, 2 hours, register online
